A Wonderful Trishaw Trip to Hazlehead Park

Residents at Angusfield House Care Home enjoyed a wonderful outing to Hazlehead Park, taking in the beautiful surroundings and discovering more about one of Aberdeen’s best-known green spaces.

The trip was made possible through a Trishaw ride, with residents travelling together in specially designed cycles with comfortable passenger seats at the front while a trained cyclist pedals from behind. These adapted bikes give people who may have limited mobility the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, explore the local area and experience the simple pleasure of being out and about.

The journey to Hazlehead Park was filled with laughter, conversation and plenty of opportunities to take in the scenery. Once there, residents enjoyed exploring the park and learning more about the area, with several discovering things about Hazlehead they had not known before.

Trips like this provide much more than a change of scenery. Getting outdoors can encourage conversation, stimulate memories and provide residents with a sense of freedom and adventure. The gentle pace of the Trishaw also allows everyone to take their time and enjoy their surroundings without the physical demands of cycling themselves.

Hazlehead Park is particularly well suited to a day out, with its extensive green spaces, woodland areas and historic surroundings. It is also one of Aberdeen’s oldest and most historic parks.

It was lovely to see residents enjoying the fresh air, sharing stories and making the most of their time together. The laughter and smiles throughout the trip showed just how much these experiences can add to everyday life at Angusfield House.

We look forward to enjoying many more outings and discovering new places around Aberdeen with our residents.
