What Is Residential Care?

Residential care is designed for those who need help with everyday living while enjoying the independence and dignity of a truly supportive environment. It’s suited to individuals who no longer feel safe living alone or who benefit from structured support with tasks like personal care, medication routines, mobility or daily meals. In a residential care setting, residents are free from the worries of household chores or isolation, while staff are available around-the-clock to assist and provide social opportunities.

Residential care is about more than just assistance. It’s a way to rediscover enjoyment in daily life, continue with current hobbies, explore new interests and build new routines within a vibrant community. Residents benefit from nutritious, freshly prepared meals, stimulating daily programmes, outings to local attractions and the comfort of knowing help is always close by should their needs change. It’s a reassuring choice for families and those looking for safety and companionship while continuing to do what they love most.

Residential Care FAQs

Residential care provides 24/7 accommodation with personal care and support, making it an ideal choice for individuals with low-level mobility needs, those experiencing loneliness at home, or those seeking the benefits of group living.

Nursing care also provides around-the-clock support, but it is alongside specialised medical care, led by a team of registered nurses who can assess health conditions and deliver necessary medical treatments. Both options are designed to cater to the unique needs of residents, promoting their well-being and comfort.

The services and facilities offered at care homes and nursing homes may differ, but at Angusfield House, you can count on 24-hour assistance, including personal and medical care. We provide housekeeping and laundry services, prepare meals and offer various activities and entertainment for people with us for residential care. As well as this, they have unlimited access to our facilities.

Before a resident moves in, we create a personalised care plan which undergoes regular monitoring and assessments. Should the care needs of our residents change during their stay, our team collaborates with them and their family members to make necessary adjustments to their care plan, ensuring their evolving needs are met effectively. We take pride in offering a continuum of care at our Aberdeen Care Home, allowing residents to transition to another care unit within our home if their care requirements change.

At Angusfield House Care Home, we require a 28-day notice period for residents receiving any of our long-term care types and are looking to move out. Our compassionate team are on hand around the clock to support you with your moving transition and answer any further questions you have.
